We provide legal counseling to non-profit and for-profit corporations
that operate Group Homes and Foster Family Agencies that are licensed
by the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing. These
residential facilities provide residential care, mental health services,
and special education to children who are within the custody of the Juvenile
Courts in California, after being adjudicated as abused or neglected,
or as having committed a juvenile offense.

We also provide legal counseling to corporations that operate certified
non-public special education schools approved by the California Department
of Education, either to serve disabled students who reside in Group Homes
or Foster Family Agencies, or to serve special education students placed
by local public educational agencies that do not have public programs
available to serve such students and operate only day programs.
The services we provide to such corporate entities include:
- Counseling on how to best insure that the students
such corporations serve, either residentially or in day programs, receive
appropriate special education services from the public school districts
or county offices of education that are responsible for their special
education programs.
- Legal research and advice on specific legal issues
that such corporations may face on issues ranging from their licensing
obligations, contractual obligations or potential legal liability for
their actions.
- Risk management, i.e. advice on how to approach and
minimize the liability of such corporations on various issues.
